Tlingit means “the people.” Our ancestors gave the Taku River its name, and for thousands of years, our people have lived along its banks — walking the trails from Atlin to the river each spring, and returning each fall with salmon smoked and dried for the winter ahead.
We are governed today as we always have been: through the Tlingit Clan System, where the Wolf and Crow moieties work together, and every citizen has both a voice and a responsibility in how our territory is cared for. That same principle — shared responsibility, decisions made for the generations who come after us — guides the work of Taku Corp.
Taku Corp is how the Nation puts its own hands on its own future: building clean energy, homes, jobs, and enterprise that belong to the Taku River Tlingit, on Taku River Tlingit terms. Every company under this roof exists because our people decided it should.
